Well, I guess 9th place isn't all that bad at Bristol, but man is it
dissappointing when you have a strong car, especially after we qualified well and practiced well all weekend.
The car was strong from the moment we unloaded, and I thought that we had
a good shot at qualifying . Then the rain came, and I was concerned because
we had to go out so early and I knew the track would cool down. We went out
7th overall and after my two laps we were 4th fastest, but we ended up 12th
when qualifying was over and we were satisfied with that.
Saturday was pretty calm, hung out at the track and did a hospitality for
Interstate. I can't say enough about the people from Interstate, they have
been so supportive this year.
The race started good for us. We were real fast during the first part,
and I knew we had a chance of finishing in the top five because the car was
good. But then it happened, a wreck on a restart and a car spun into my
left front fender and we had to pit to fix it. Still, I thought we had a
good chance to finish strong because there were so few cars on the lead lap,
but the car got so tight that it was hard for me to pass anyone, and we
finished 9th.
Thanks,
