Boy did it rain a lot this past weekend! I spent all day Friday and a
good portion of the day Sunday in the truck watching the rain come down. I
know that after the drought we've had this year a lot of people were
happy about the rain, but I, for one, was not. We had a good car this weekend,
it was actually the one that was wrecked in Kansas. I'm not sure how long
the guys in the shop worked on it, but I know it was a number of hours. I have to
say thanks for them getting it ready quickly.
We were dissappointed in finishing 13th, mainly because we feel like we
had at least a 5th place car. The changes we made during that one pit stop to tighten up the car were
too much. We had a tire going down without our knowledge and made those changes to
correct a loose car. Those changes made the car way to tight. I would have really liked to have seen the race go the full length
but time just ran out.
I did get to spend some quality time with the folks from Coca-Cola this
past Thursday and Friday. We did the annual Coke Ride Along at Atlanta
Motor Speedway. It's always fun to take those contest winners for a few laps
around the track. You should have seen their faces when we were done!
Not sure if anyone saw the announcement about the quarter-midget facility
that I'm involved with down here in North Carolina. I'm real excited
about it because quarter-midgets are how I got my start. Stay tuned.....we'll
let you know more about it as soon as we can!
