I wish I could start his week's journal off on a more positive note, but my 39th place finish at Phoenix was certainly very disappointing for me and the Interstate Batteries crew. Even though we qualified poorly, the car felt very strong as the race progressed. I had pretty high hopes that we'd place well at the finish, until our bad luck that's been at our backs all year, came back once again and delivered us a blown motor.

This doesn't mean that we won't give a 100% effort at Homestead. I feel very good about going to Homestead, especially since we'll be taking my favorite car there. I was able to clinch my championship at Homestead, and I would love to see Tony and Zippy be able to do the same this weekend.

Who knows... you might see both JGR cars celebrating victories at Homestead!
