Bobby's Weekly Journal

Well, I think that was a pretty good weekend.

I'm just kidding with you. It was a great weekend for everyone. The car was good out of the gate, not so good in the middle, then it got good again at the end. I don't know why I run so well at Atlanta but I do. It's not something I can do everytime but I like going there. We didn't make changes everytime we came in but Fatback made some good calls and we now have this really huge bass trophy to deal with. Believe me, it is a nice problem to have.

This race win is great for all the guys at the shop who worked hard all winter to get our cars ready. They worked their tails off and this is the result. We have a long way to go this season and we're moving onward. I wanted to leave Atlanta in the top-10 in points but we leave in 5th place. We can't let up, lift off or coast now. It is a full court press as we get into the heart of the racing schedule.

We're now heading to Darlington. I like that place. I like the history and I like the track. You need to get it into your head that you are going to slip and slide all over the place most of the day as the track just eats tires. But that's ok. The other half of the battle is to know how to race the track and not your competitors. You don't want to get into a situation where you are racing the guys next to you. Because the next thing you know you will find that your tires are junk. So race the track and keep those tires under you as long as you can.
