Well
everyone, I have to admit that I'm a upset that there
hasn't been much to talk about lately. Our team has
had tons of back luck and it has really hurt us in the
second half of the season. Atlanta was a bright spot,
but even there we felt like we should have finished
better than fifth.
Hopefully, this upcoming weekend at Rockingham will
be good for our team. We finished 17th in the spring
race but that was because we had a tire go down and
had to make a green flag pit stop. We had a much better
car than 17th place but it just didn't work out for
us in the spring. Rockingham has been a good track for
our team over the years, so we have been working hard
to have a good race this weekend.
Also,
this weekend is our turn to sport the NASCAR Winston
Cup Victory Lap paint scheme, back in 2000 when we won
the championship we also won a race in Rockingham. This
tribute to R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company is very fitting.
It is really hard to imagine where our sport would be
without RJR. The success of NASCAR owes a lot to RJR
and their work promoting our sport.
I
think it's really cool that at the last two NASCAR Winston
Cup races ever, RJR and Winston will be honored on both
of the Joe Gibbs Racing cars, with myself at Rockingham
and Tony at Homestead.
Thanks and cheer hard for us this weekend...
