Qualifying Washed Out at Darlington, Labonte to Start 15th
DARLINGTON, S.C., Friday, Nov. 12, 2004 – Rain caused Bud Pole Qualifying to be canceled Nov. 12 at Darlington International Raceway and the starting line-up was determined by points, which means Bobby Labonte will start 15th in the Southern 500 on Nov. 14.
Labonte will start on the inside of Row 8 next to veteran Jeff Burton. “I wish we could have qualified, but the rain came and that was it,” Labonte said. “Hopefully, there won’t be any rain tomorrow and we’ll have a chance to work on the car for the race.” The Southern 500 will start at 1:30 p.m. (EDT) Nov. 14 and be broadcast live on NBC and MRN.
