NASCAR Sprint Cup points leader Kyle Busch continues his hot streak as he took the pole for Sunday’s UAW-Dodge 400 at the Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway (LVMS). Busch nipped Carl Edwards, who will start second for the event, just minutes after Edwards thought he had the pole.

Bobby Labonte and the #43 Cheerios “Circle of Helping Hearts” Dodge team will start the race from the 39th position. Labonte had a fast primary car during the morning practice session. However, on a lap that would have put him near the top of the time sheet, the Dodge Charger came around on Labonte and hit the outside wall. The team was forced to pull out the backup car for the 400-miler. In all, six Dodges were involved in practice accidents.

“That deal was similar to Talladega last year when the car jumped around on me,” said Labonte. “It was really good for the early part of practice and it was going to be a great racecar. I don’t know. We never got any practice with the backup so we didn’t qualify well. But we’ll get it dialed in tomorrow.”

Sunday’s race will be televised live on FOX and broadcast live on MRN Radio. The race coverage is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. (EST).
