Quotes from Bobby Labonte:

“All of the guys on this No. 43 Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge are anxious to get to Dover because we have some momentum after our run at Lowe’s. It’s really momentum and a little bit of frustration. We know that we had a better car at the end of the 600 than the 11th place showed. At one point we were hooked up and we were right there with the leaders, as far as lap times. Our pit strategy just didn’t pan out like we wanted. But having a car like that will really get you pumped for the next race.”

“In looking at Dover, you know, this is our third race there with the new chassis. At Bristol and Martinsville, two other tracks where we used the new car last year, we had great runs going before we got taken out. So that gives us confidence that we are figuring this car out. It takes us getting on the track with 42 other cars to see what this car likes. We can do all the wind tunnel and shaker rig stuff, but actually putting this car through a race is the only way to learn. We are seeing that as we visit these tracks for the second and third time.”

“I’ve always liked Dover. Some call it a bigger Bristol. It’s concrete, high-banked and fast. A lap around that place is pretty breathtaking because you aren’t off the gas for very long. You run right out to the wall coming off the corner and it can sometimes reach out and grab you. It’s just a cool racetrack. I’ve been lucky enough to have won there. And we were pretty good there last year. We qualified well and had a decent run.”
