David Reutimann picked up his first career pole in Friday’s qualifying session for the 400-mile season finale at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. Scott Speed will start alongside as he is also making his first appearance on the front row. Championship contenders Carl Edwards and Jimmie Johnson will start fourth and 30th, respectively.

Bobby Labonte will start 35th in the Liberty Medical Dodge. Labonte picked up the win in the 2003 version of this race. Statistically, Homestead is a great track for Labonte. He has competed in all three touring series at the track and has garnered one win, four top-five and five top-ten finishes.

“We fought ‘loose’ in and ‘tight’ from the center of the corner off all day,” sounded Labonte. “I knew coming to the white flag on my qualifying lap that it was going to be ‘tight.’ We’ll work tomorrow to ‘loosen’ it up off the corner because that’s where I’m losing a lot of time. I’m confident we’ll get it right tomorrow.”

Sunday’s race will be televised live on ABC. It will be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and Sirius Channel 128. Pre-race coverage is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM EDT.
